This year my complimentary Halloween photos will be taken at the Monroe Halloween Event in Smith Clove Park! There will be hay rides, pumpkin painting and an exotic animal show. I'll be roaming around taking fun shots. When you see me, stop me to take your photo then see it posted on my Facebook page.
The festivites begin at 12:30pm at Planet Pizza for the costume parade which will march to Smith Clove Park...weather permitting.

Changing locations not creativity! Many of you have asked, "Where are you moving to?"

I am moving on to a different focus in my artistic portraiture. After 8 1/2 years I find that I no longer need a studio rental place as my love of photography stems from capturing children in their natural environment. Therefore I am excited to announce that I will be exclusively photographing in natural light on location, either at your home or an outdoor location of choice. This decision was a simple one as more requests from previous and new clients for home portrait sessions were constantly being asked for, and I love capturing the little ones in their natural, comfortable familiar surroundings.

And temporarily (hopefully) to this....at home.

So now I come to you. Check back to see what creations I have made at my client's home.

I'm booking for Holiday sessions and the calendar is filling up fast, so contact me soon to get your appointment, in time for the holidays.

It was a very hot day but that didn't dampen the fun that everyone had celebrating Lauren's 4th year birthday party at Lawrence Farms Orchards, in Newburgh, NY. The kids rode on the train, picked peaches from the orchard, banged on the pinata filled with candy and finished off the day with a very cooling ice cream cake! What a wonderful time for all!

I love photographing parties and events for children. Time passes so quickly and all that is left are the memories!

It was wonderful to attend Robert's graduation from Tuxedo Middle School, on June 21, 2011. Time passes too quickly when one day I'm photographing a little boy of 7 yrs. and the next time I look he's entering High School!

Mom is so proud of her little boy, and so grateful to see him achieve this milestone!

Grandpa shares in the joy as well.

It's hard to believe that this was my view just a few short weeks ago, when my husband and I stole away for an un-characteristic vacation during the month of December. It was glorious and too short, but so worthwhile! Memories of this time are helping us get through these endless winter storms! :)

Walking To Fight Against Breast Cancer ~ Cherfoto Images, Harriman, NY

What a beautiful day and what a wonderful turnout for the 15th anniversary of "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk at Woodbury Commons, NY. It was the first time that I have attended such an event and I was so glad I did. I joined my good friend Linda Leghorn and was in support of family members and new friends stricken with this disease. I have some of my impressions of the day in the photographs here and the full album of the entire day on my Facebook page. Check out the enthusiasm and wonderful feelings the day held for all!

We thank all of our old friends and new friends who braved the "dog days of winter" to support our benefit Valentine's Day promotion to raise funds for the children of Haiti. We collected more than $300.00 to donate to Save The Children Foundation.

It was a pleasure to attend the 15th birthday celebration of Linda's son Richy at Gasho's in Central Valley, NY. Although Linda has had her share of hardships in the past year she continues to radiate a spirit that is unmatched. It was a happy event to see her laughing and smiling with her family and friends.

Edna's Foundation of Hope Gala Event 2009

The foundation was authored by Edna Curley a retired NYC police officer, wife and mother of three, who suffered from leiomyosarcoma a fast and aggressive cancer. This benefit gala held annually unfortunately was without it's founder this year as the disease claim her life in October. The event was still a huge success with many beautiful people coming out to support and raise funds for the foundation.

So we changed her outfit and told her she looked pretty ~ she disagreed!

I love photographing new life ~ there's nothing that is more precious. Maya was so content and slept pretty much through the entire session, except when she wanted a snack from Mom. Maya is just 3 weeks old.

Mothers and Children Benefit for CASA on April 25th.

A big thank you to all the mothers and women who participated in our benefit for CASA (Court Appointed Special Assistants for abused and neglected children). The weather was wonderfully cooperative and we had a great day photographing several of our clients with their children. We made some new friends as well. The children seemed to enjoy the chaotic atmosphere that is not the usual venue at Cherfoto Images. We generally concentrate on one family or individual at time. This time it was a little different with people waiting and watching others being photographed, but it all worked out.

As promised all of the photographs ordered were ready and delivered before Mother's Day - whew! Memo to self - "next year, start earlier!" :)

Well on to the next event... In the meantime check out some of the moms that came in.

Learning the value of FaceBook

I've just returned from our annual NYS State conference held this year in Albany, NY for The Professional Photographers' Society of New York State. What a learn fest! My eyes were red for four days because of the intense programs given all day and for the networking with friends and colleagues at night. No sleep just a good time swapping ideas, learning to use new equipment and finding out how great FaceBook is. I am starting a friends of Cherfoto Images group on Facebook and when you're a member you'll be in touch with the new promos and events happening at the studio.
